 “After a major refurbishing designed by Mary-Ann Agresti AIA of The Design Initiative, The Andrew Mellon Library reopened to a chorus of praise from students, faculty and the library staff. Ms Agresti earned this praise by skillfully translating our program goals imaginatively into an extraordinary design solution. Her designs gave the Andrew Mellon Library a unity of form and function that truly invites users in and supports student and staff alike, as they go about their work. While most visitors comment on the beauty of the millwork and furniture that Ms Agresti designed, library patrons praise the new open floor plan, the imaginative use of color, the quality of the lighting and the very comfortable custom designed carrels and seating."
